Brie with Figs and Pecans

Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (half of a 17.3 ounce package)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • 1 8-ounce round Brie cheese
  • ½ cup fig jam

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Unfold pastry sheet and lay out for 20 minutes to bring to room temperature.  Meanwhile, melt 1 tablespoon butter in a saucepan over medium heat.  Add pecans and sauté until golden brown.  Place toasted pecans on top of cheese.  Spread jam over pecans.
  2. Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in microwave for 2 minutes.  Brush both sides of pastry with melted butter.  Center cheese round on top of pastry sheet.  Bring all four corners of pastry together above Brie, twist slightly together on top, and secure with cooking string.
  3. Place Brie pastry on an ungreased baking sheet.  Bake 25 to 30 minutes.  Serve with crackers or alone with green grapes, figs and olives.  Also looks nice served alone with red and green grapes.
