Thumbprints


Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
  1. Mix margarine and brown sugar until creamy. Add yolk. Gradually add flour, salt, and vanilla. Form dough into 1" balls.
  2. Roll into beaten egg white and then pecans.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes. Punch cookie in center and return into the oven for 8 minutes.
Frosting: Mix together food coloring, powdered sugar, vanilla, and margarine (optional).
